children's bedroom

I was looking around for a warm uplifting deep-pigmented yellow for this room, and then  I discovered this yellow - the favourite colour of  the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa (1717-80). She was a great patron of the arts and music, and this yellow is widely found throughout the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It is warm and vibrant with a sunny Mediterranean feel.

Our 'third' bedroom is large, querky, vibrant and exciting -  perfect for a small group of children to have fun in and 'sleep-over' altogther. It is split level with 3 single beds packed together on the upper level and some play space with two additional sofa beds and a wardrobe in the lower part. There is a toy & games cupboard under the steps and a mini-library of children's books.

For warmth in winter there are two eco-electric heaters on the walls, and in addition there is hot air coming from the integral 'heat box' when the fire in the pink room is lit.
From this room you can directly access: the landing at the top of the main stairs; the upstairs balcony; and (via a spiral staircase leading back down) the main entrance hall.
